Michigan Veteran Placement was founded when the owner, an 18yr Army Veteran, while working for an automotive supplier, met a young man who completed his commitment to the Marines as a Supply Clerk, then after separation he could only find a job working at a local restaurant. 1.Unemployment rates for both male and female veterans increased in 2020, reflecting the COVID-19 pandemic. The rate for male veterans was 6.5 percent, little different from the rate of 6.7 percent for female veterans.
2. Among the unemployed veterans in 2020 Census,
Among the 581,000 unemployed veterans in 2020,
a. 54 % were ages 25 to 54,
b. 41 % were age 55 and over,
c. 5 % were ages 18 to 24.

Michigan Unemployment Statistics - Residents / Non Veterans:
Michigan's most recent jobless rate dipped to a level not seen since August 2000, state officials said in July 2017. But the Michigan Veteran Unemployment Rate Jumped dramatically in early 2020, bt has not recovered nearly as fast as non-military unemployed.
The Michigan jobless rate in October 2018 4.1 well below the state's June 2016 rate of 4.8 percent. At the same time, the national jobless rate was at 3.8 percent.
"The state's jobless rate decreased in June, reflecting labor force reductions for a second consecutive month," said Jason Palmer, director of the Bureau of Labor Market Information and Strategic Initiatives, in a news release. "This occurred after several months of steady workforce growth in 2016, 2017 and early 2018."
Sectors that saw job gains in June included business and professional services; trade, transportation and utilities; and financial activities.
